Data Deletion Instructions

1. What this page covers

Naru replies to comments left on our own Instagram posts. When you comment a keyword such as Japanese on one of our posts, Instagram notifies us so that we can send you the requested link by direct message.

2. What we store

• The Instagram-scoped user ID of the account that commented. This ID is issued by Instagram, is specific to our application, and cannot be used to identify you outside of it.
• The comment text and the ID of the post it was left on.
• Whether a reply was sent, and whether the link we sent was opened.

We do not store your name, your email address, your password, or your Instagram profile contents. We never ask for your Instagram credentials.

3. How to request deletion

Send an email to privacy@naru-app.com with the subject line Data Deletion and include the Instagram username you commented with.

We delete all records associated with that account within 30 days and confirm by email once the deletion is complete. There is no cost, and you do not need an account with us.

4. Removing our access yourself

You can also stop the interaction at any time from within Instagram:

• Delete your comment on the post. We only ever act on comments left on our own posts.
• Block or restrict the account, which prevents any further messages.

5. Automatic deletion

Comment and delivery records are retained only as long as they are needed to operate and debug the reply feature, and are removed automatically after 12 months.
